Decarb Scotland 2026

Join us for our annual conference, Decarb Scotland, which will be on 19 February 2026 at the John McIntyre Centre in Edinburgh, right next to Scotland’s dormant volcano, Arthur’s Seat. More of that later…
The conference will kick-off with addresses from the Minister of State for Energy, Michael Shanks MP, and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Action and Energy, Gillian Martin MSP, the latter will also present our award for impactful and innovative professionals new to the sector, the YPA sponsored by the Energy Transition Zone.

And to return to Arthur’s Seat – join us on the day before the conference, 18 February, for Decarb Rocks – How Geosciences Support Industrial Decarbonisation. Explore the geology of Arthur’s Seat with a tour presented by the British Geological Survey highlighting geologies for CO₂ storage, hydrogen storage, geothermal, etc. The field trip will start within Holyrood Park at 2.30 pm 18th February 2026, at the Holyrood Park Road entrance, please meet beforehand adjacent to the small lodge house on the west side the road. It will comprise of an approximately 4 km walk mostly along metalled or gravel and some grassy paths, which may be muddy, with steps, inclines and some steep sections. Participants must wear warm and waterproof clothes and robust and waterproof footwear, such as boots or wellingtons, suitable for Edinburgh weather in February.
Tickets for the tour are limited, so make sure to secure you place by selecting the option when you purchase your ticket.
