As Sarah Jones MP, Minister of State at both the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and the Department for Business and Trade has said:
DeCarbScotland 2025 will explore the opportunities for Scotland as we undertake this industrial transformation – we have the geology, the expertise and the people.
We will hear from senior political speakers on progress on the net zero industrial Cluster Sequencing process, and progress in Scotland, alongside NESO on the required infrastructure delivery.
Breakout sessions will highlight:
Scotland’s key resources – water, geological storage and our skilled workforce and supply chain; and provide an update on national and international markets and projects.
Water plays a vital role in industrial decarbonisation – for cooling, in carbon capture processes, as a feedstock for green hydrogen, etc, and there are opportunities for use of wastewater, salt water etc to expand this resource.
Supply chain and skills – we’ll hear from Scottish Enterprise on their recently produced report on the opportunities for the Scottish supply chain and mapping of capabilities and expertise, alongside key recommendations to government from the Scottish supply chain.
Opportunities for Scottish supply chain and manufacturing innovation also lie with national and international projects and we will hear from Norway, France and the wider UK about progress on their projects.
